The Lincoln "Pipeliner" Model SA-200 P/N:K6090 used the fourcylinder Continental F-162 and F-163 engine. The American Bosch MRD-4A302-WW magneto was used on many of thesewelders. Lincoln Electric purchased the Continental engine as a "long block", the added the carburetor, starter, magneto (or distributor), governor, and electrical system . The advantage of the magneto, is that the enginedoes need an electrical system for reliable ignition and the machine can be "handstarted". The disadvantage is the high maintenance costs and availability of repair parts. If you have a Continental F-163, you can easily upgrade this engine with our electronic ignition kit.
